Since his childhood, Denis Kornilov has loved to draw–on the lessons in school, through college and during every spare moment. It wasn’t long before he had his first SLR camera. This started him down the path of capturing the beauty of a product through photography. It was in graphic design and working with several design studios he honed his skills, but it wasn’t until he got into the advertising industry and meet with an urgent need for photographs that he built his competency in all that went along with creating engaging photos, using KeyShot throughout the process.

DenisKornilov-Headshot-300It’s no secret that modern advertising production can’t do without 3D; 3D modeling and visualization is an integral part of the process of creating advertising. Many agencies use CG studio services, but as Denis puts it, “This not only increases cost, but also makes the process more lengthy. I’ve always wanted to close this gap in my skills,”

So, he set off to close that gap and master the entire workflow. “The solution was difficult,” he recalls, “Being proficient in modeling and visualization takes time, time I didn’t have. I learned simple modeling and sculpting, but I’ve found that most customers already have a model or can be found online. When it came to visualizations, one of my friends said, ‘Have you heard about KeyShot?'”

From that day on, his life changed. “I fell in love with the software. I always use KeyShot when I need to render something–It’s my main program for visualization. I didn’t have time to learn other rendering software–One look at their interface was enough to understand that everything in them is very difficult.

From the start, I immediately understood KeyShot’s simple user interface and render settings, amazed at the real-time preview. Seeing the high quality work of other KeyShot users, I realized this program has no rival.

To me, it boils down to five reasons why any 3D professional needs have KeyShot:

  1. Fast to learn.
  2. Nice interface.
  3. Convenient and simple.
  4. Render quality is just gorgeous!
  5. Nothing more is needed.

With nearly ten years of mastering his talents, he is now an advertising copywriter, photographer, retoucher and cg-artist doing both 3d visualisation and modeling while using KeyShot to create each image. “I can do it all, from copywriting to the final image, without the problem of not having the context along the way. At the birth of the idea I can see how it will look, I know what and how to shoot, I know what I need to create in 3D, describe it in the copy, retouch and combine it all into one final image.”

Denis ends with advice for those who are just starting out, “I have always believed that there is no limit to human capabilities and in any field you can achieve anything if you truly love what you’re doing. Never give up, love your work and believe in yourself. Nothing is impossible, everything is in your hands.”
