A new challenge is in effect. I repeat, a new challenge is in effect. ZWSOFT is hosting a challenge on GrabCAD, the ZW3D Superhero Vehicle Design Challenge. Do you need to know any more? A vehicle… for a superhero. Who doesn’t want to design that? Now, you may be thinking a car, but this challenge can be for any type of vehicle to help a superhero perform his superhero duties. Here are all the details, plus how to import your ZW3D model straight into KeyShot.

How to enter

Design your entry with ZW3D. ZWSOFT will provide a trial license of ZW3D for every participant, you can download it here. Important: Participants are not allowed to import a 3D model that was created with another software and saved as a Z3 file, make significant modifications on any imported models, or build a new model with existing parts that were imported into ZW3D. Link to any existing parts used and give credit to the original author.

In addition, Luxion will provide a trial license for you to use to rendering your ZW3D model, you can download that here. For a KeyShot trial without watermarked renderings, email license@luxion.com with “ZW3D Vehicle Challenge” in the subject line. You will receive a 15 day license for use in the contest.

The prize pack is great, with the top three entries winning cash, an Up! 3D Printer and 3DConnexion mouse!

1st Place: $1,000 + Tiertime Up! Plus 3D Printer (MSRP $1,499) + 3Dconnexion SpacePilot® Pro 3D Mouse
2nd Place: $800 + Tiertime Up! Mini 3D Printer (MSRP $899) + 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse® Pro 3D Mouse
3rd Place: $600 + Tiertime Up! Mini 3D Printer (MSRP $899) + 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator® 3D Mouse

How to import ZW3D models into KeyShot

Spoiler alert! How do you get your ZW3D model into KeyShot? Well, it’s all part of the upcoming KeyShot integration for ZW3D. Yes, it’s coming soon, but you can get a sneak peek today. Download the Installation Guide to get the KEyShot menu to show in the Part/Assembly toolbar. You’ll be among the first to use the new integration that imports your ZW3D model directly into KeyShot.

More details, the rules and requirement can be seen on the challenge page. Question about the contest can also be asked there in the comment section. Have fun designing and rendering your superhero vehicle using ZW3D and KeyShot!
