If you receive our newsletter (and you know you should!), you’ll know KeyShot 3 will be coming soon. We’ve got a new KeyShot 3 page out that reveals more behind the next shiny new release of KeyShot and it gives more detail on the features, the UI and the animation that is to come. Here are six features you’ll see in the upcoming release. We’ll be posting more about KeyShot 3 as we get closer to launch. Let us know what features you are looking forward to and what questions you have these!

Improved user interaction:
KeyShot 3 features a new, more organized and streamlined design. Navigating the interface is more efficient and intuitive than ever – allowing you to accomplish your tasks quicker with greater ease.

Moveable parts:
You will now have the ability to move individual parts on any model that you have imported into the scene. Once the parts are moved, you can still move the entire model as a whole and all the transforms are retained. Creating images showing internal functionality just got easier!

New rendering features:
There are some exciting new rendering features that will be available in the upcoming release. New texturing features include the ability to add specular and opacity maps to your materials. In addition, you will have the ability to control the color of your specular and diffuse textures by using the “blend with color” parameter in your material settings.

Interactive texture mapping:
KeyShot 3 features a new, more organized and streamlined design. Navigating the interface is more efficient and intuitive than ever – allowing you to accomplish your tasks quicker with greater ease.

Library folder structure:
A file browser based library structure will help you transfer, import and organize your materials more efficiently. Groups of materials are no longer stored as one file, allowing you to easily update your material groups without overwriting any saved files.

New materials:
With the new texturing capabilities, we are shipping an improved and more organized material library. With 200+ materials in 47 categories you are sure either find the material you need for your project or be able to customize the existing ones to more closely match your needs.

These are just a few new features you’ll see. To catch a glimpse of KeyShot 3 in action, just visit the new KeyShot 3 page. Remember, if you buy KeyShot now, you will get a free upgrade to KeyShot 3 when it’s released.
