Today we launch the third update for KeyShot 3 and with it a few new features and software enhancements you’re sure to love. If you saw some of our news announcements over the past few weeks at SIGGRAPH and IDSA you’ll be familiar with KeyShotVR, a new way for you to create and present interactive 3D content on the web. Along with that, KeyShot 3.3 has new color selection functionality and updates for 3D file formats support. Here’s a quick look.
KeyShotVR
First, we’re introducing a new patent-pending technology for presenting products on the web. It’s called KeyShotVR. With it, you can create 3D, interactive representation of products that can be viewed on any HTML5-enabled web-browser, including mobile devices, all without the need for any special plugins. It’s an optional add-on with loads of options for creating four different VR types to produce a touch-enabled, 3D experience that can be embedded in your webpage. You can see a few examples at http://www.keyshot.com/vr/.
Color Selector
Color selection for KeyShot has a big update this time around. KeyShot 3.3 introduces a new color selector, accessible for any color option in the KeyShot Project panel. The new Color Selection dialog allows you to pick colors from anywhere on the screen and save selected colors to a new palette.
Support Autodesk Inventor 2013
With KeyShot, you have the widest variety of import options of any 3D rendering software. With KeyShot 3.3 you can import your Autodesk Inventor 2013 files directly into KeyShot, retaining the colors, names and assembly structure.
A few other updates for KeyShot 3.3 include:
- Improved support for texture coordinates from SolidWorks
- Improvements to importers including NX, Parasolid, Creo, and Inventor
- Several bug fixes
