KeyShot and Sørensen Leather help visualize the full line of leathers under real world lighting conditions.

Irvine, CALIFORNIA – November 11th, 2014 – Luxion, a leading developer of advanced 3D rendering and lighting technology and makers of KeyShot®, the first real-time ray tracing and global illumination program for 3D rendering and animation, and Sørensen Leathers, world-renowned supplier of high-quality leather and hides, are pleased to announce the exclusive partnership that brings the full line of Sørensen Leather to KeyShot Cloud.

With the release of KeyShot 5, Luxion continues to simplify the product development process, from concept design to sales and marketing. Within KeyShot 5, users now have direct access to Sørensen Leather materials via KeyShot Cloud. 289 leather grains and colors in total can be applied with a simple drag-and-drop of the material onto the object from the KeyShot Cloud interface. The leathers are applied as textures, retaining the ability for other material settings, including colors to be applied to the model, making it faster than ever to communicate the desired appearance of products and visuals.

”When I was a little girl my father showed me my first hide ever,” relates Louise Vesterskov Sørensen,  CEO and Partner at Sorensen Leather. “When I felt its smoothness and saw how beautiful it looked, then I knew leather was going to be more than just a passion for me, rather a life style. Luxion has helped a lot bringing this passion into the digital era. It brings me great joy to be able to share this passion with fellow leather enthusiasts as well as professionals in such a new and inspiring way!”

Tibi Selejan, Concept Developer at Sorensen Leather says, “It feels incredible to be able to give something back to the community that features a real, tangible product. I’m like a proud father seeing his babies take their first steps!”

“The level of quality in Sørensen Leather is beyond compare,” says Henrik Wann Jensen, Chief Scientist at Luxion. “With this partnership, KeyShot users have a wider range of leather materials that accurately match the physical samples. We are excited to make them available for free on the KeyShot Cloud.”
