Summary

Swegon began its digital transformation of product data in 2021 with the implementation of inriver PIM to manage both product information and visuals.

With the company’s continuous expansion, it recognized the need for a dedicated solution to handle the increasing volume of product visuals. In 2023, Swegon adopted KeyShot Dock as its DAM platform.

The integration of inriver PIM and KeyShot Dock now allows Swegon to unify its product data and digital assets within a single, connected solution. Product information managed in PIM is now enriched with visual assets managed through KeyShot Dock, conquering complex sales cycles with streamlined workflows and accurate product data.

Who is Swegon?

As a Global provider of indoor environment solutions, specializing in ventilation, heating, cooling and climate optimization, Swegon’s mission is to enable healthy indoor environments for people to perform their best, today and tomorrow. With a turnover of 9.3 billion SEK in 2024, they have over 3,800 employees, 24 production plants in Europe, North America and India as well as subsidiaries and distributors all over the world.

The Challenge

Swegon’s sales consist, for the most part, of projects including a lot of products, rather than single product sales. For example, one project with a 2-year sales cycle, worth ~1.2 million SEK and +330 units – often with configurations tailored to the customer. Not only can poor product data disqualify a sale, but it can also lead to costly delays throughout the process from idea to installation and continuous operation.

Before the implementation of KeyShot Dock, Swegon didn’t have an overview of its product assets. Assets were scattered on different servers and individuals’ devices leading to:

1. Lack of transparency, not knowing if assets were approved or even outdated, increased the risk of publishing incorrect product data.

2. Time wasted on searching, sending and identifying assets, increased inefficiencies and builds siloes between teams.

The implementation of DAM

In 2023 Swegon implemented KeyShot Dock as their DAM solution. With support from our implementation partner Consid, they structured new processes, governance and workflows before carrying out the enrollment. By leading with an agile approach, they had the possibility to make tweaks and work in a sustainable way.

Stina describes: “there’s a great portion of change management in the work of implementing a new system. But even if we started small, we were aiming for continuous development and from the very beginning built a strategy, processes and a framework for growth. So, once we were ready for the next step the corner stones were already in place.

The Results

With a single source of truth implemented into their MarTech stack, Swegon’s marketing department now powers asset consistency and transparency. Stina says:

“We have the same assets and product information on the web as in the product sheet. Our customers will find the same information regardless of which material or on what channel they search. When assets are managed and delivered from one central hub, it builds trust and credibility both within the organization and externally”

Now, the marketing department are also able to create consistent content and easily share assets in a controlled way to external agencies and within the organization by utilizing KeyShot Dock’s capabilities such as connectors to external tools, access control and expiry date. Jenny explains:

Before, asset sharing was time-consuming. Now it’s easy and efficient, and our content creators don’t even need to be included in the process. Instead, our internal users can now find the assets themselves through the DAM. We also utilize the connectors to Adobe Creative Cloud, Optimizely and Microsoft Office 365. This is a really smooth and consistent way to create content.”
