This Friday, October 26th, Microsoft enters the mobile device market with their first hardware product, the Microsoft Surface tablet. Microsoft is building buzz around the device calling it a ‘new family of PCs for Windows’. The 10.6″ 16:9 screen and form factor reveal a design and professional functionality that makes the device stand out in an aggressive mobile market. KeyShot was used to portray this, and the elegance the new product brings with attention to every detail of the design and overall aesthetic.

  • The materials – “VaporMg” magnesium case with integrated kick-stand
  • The functionality – First of it’s kind flip magnetic cover with integrated keyboard
  • The engineering – Exploded view animations showing the internal design
  • The form – A 9.30mm, 1.5 lb body with a 3mm touch-pad cover

Luxion worked with Microsoft to create the marketing images that would capture the essence of the new product for Microsoft, expressing the new level of personal computing in each image. All the image work for the product launch, the website images and other marketing material was created in record time using Pro/ENGINEER and Creo for the modeling and KeyShot for the rendering in a 3 week timeframe.
