If you LOVE to render jewelry, you know the value a few 3D jewelry models have. Well, what would you say to 32 3D models?! Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. Thanks to Paul Krush all that precious metal goodness can be yours. He has modeled 32 rings in Rhino that you can download and bring directly into KeyShot for hours of Ior adjusting fun. On top of that, we have a jewelry rendering webinar that walks you through every step of getting that material and lighting juuuuuust right.

Paul’s rings range from beautiful single settings to elegant cluster rings with multiple materials and gems. Of course, the materials and gems used are really all up to you in the renderings you create. After rendering everyone of these rings, I think it’s safe to say, you’ll be well on your way to being a jewelry render master. Now, some of the models on Paul’s site don’t contain the tessellation info, so, you’ll need to open them up in Rhino, shade them and save them… or, you can download all the models, already updated and saved, in this handy zip file paul-krush-rings.zip (98MB).

Rendering jewelry in KeyShot

Rendering jewelry can be challenging, but also a lot of fun. In this tutorial, Brian Townsend takes you through step-by-step, importing the model then applying materials and perfecting lighting, ground reflection and camera technique, all while explaining the settings and values that are important when rendering jewelry.
