The KeyShot crew fills you in with the latest KeyShot tips and tricks, insight into 3D rendering technology and the people creating the coolest visuals across the engineering, product design and entertainment industries.

We love a good model resource and when it comes to creature details like eyes, fangs or hairy jowls we turn to Jerod Bogh for incredibly detailed assets. What makes it even better, he designs them specifically for ZBrush/KeyShot workflows. Jerod is an ace at organic sculpts and to kick off his first model set, he has created some models that are, shall we say, quite eye-catching.

Jerod’s first set of assets contain a choice between three different detailed eyes or a pack of all three. Personally, we prefer the Big Cat 3 Pack that comes with the Lion, Tiger and Leopard eyes. From Jerod:

The Big Cat Eye Pack was setup and designed to be a high-end, self contained asset collection that can be added quickly into any 3D workflow. Built in ZBrush with the character and creature designer in mind, this pack gives you access to 6 subdivisions of sculpted iris detail. Allowing for a range of uses, this eye pack can take you from early creature design, all the way to a finished production ready assets.

With 3d layers, the artist can define and control pupil dilation as well as overall iris detail strength. The included textures were created at 4K resolution in order to maximize the level of detail and range of use. The files will provide you with everything you need to create your next custom creature!

All the renders were done in KeyShot and he’s even talking about including the .ksp along with a video tutorial in the future. You can bet Jerod has more ideas tailored towards the ZBrush-KeyShot workflow as well, so keep an eye on his site, and follow him on Facebook to see when they drop.
