If you’re a fan of cinematic visuals and want to nail down a workflow from one of the best, you’ll want to drop what you’re doing and grab Chris Rosewarne’s latest tutorial – The ORB SILO Set Design Tutorial. Chris takes you through modeling in SketchUp, rendering in KeyShot and post work in Photoshop, for a set of visuals that will make the movie mavens swoon.
The tutorial trailer breaks down what Chris goes over in the 6hr+ video course and features an animation montage that looks absolutely incredible.
“All the animations were made in KeyShot. I made a batch of 2 to 3 second animations as I knew I would use fast cuts. It was the same robot arm movement, shot at different angles, and rendered at the lowest animation settings for speed. Worked a treat and so easy to animate in KeyShot.”
It turned out amazing, and the lens flares, smoke and soundtrack added in post just set the atmosphere perfectly. Chris knows how to create that cinematic look and that’s exactly what you’ll learn in this tutorial.

Here are just a few screenshots that will take you through the types of shots you’ll be creating.
