In June, Luxion and GrabCAD revealed the first level of integration between the two platforms. Today we uncover another layer, stengthening the link between KeyShot and the GrabCAD Workbench, and announcing the first ever Workbench app integration dedicated to 3D rendering and visualization. Where you were able to simply publish your images from KeyShot to GrabCAD before, you are now able to open your model from GrabCAD directly inside KeyShot, with the added option of automatically uploading you KeyShot scene (.bip or .ksp) to GrabCAD. It’s a capability making it easier for designers and engineers to collaborate on their projects with photorealistic images of their models. Here are more details with additional information here.
KeyShot and GrabCAD integration
There are two parts to the integration, with a GrabCAD Workbench project and an installation of KeyShot, you can begin creating renders of your models and collaborating with them on GrabCAD. In GrabCAD, you have the option from the model viewing area of your Workbench project in the upper right to ‘Open with KeyShot’. In KeyShot, you authorize your GrabCAD account via Preferences then select the images you wish to publish to GrabCAD. It’s a process that couldn’t be more streamline, allowing you to work offline in the KeyShot standalone rendering environment, then publish and work with others in the GrabCAD Workbench environment when connected. It’s the best of both worlds.
We know a lot of GrabCAD members use KeyShot to add visuals to the models they create and share. Now, the process is even faster with their Workbench projects. If you don’t have one, you can register for a Workbench account absolutely free. And, as always, you can download KeyShot or upgrade to the latest version. We would love to know how you’re using the new integration and feature your story. Contact us and tell us how the integration is working.
