Luxion Hits IDSA. Drops KeyShot Awesomeness on Attendees

by | Aug 16, 2012 | 0 comments

What’s happening? The questions is, what’s not happening? Luxion was out at SIGGRAPH last week where we introduced a line of new technology and features coming to KeyShot. This week we’ve hopped over to the East coast where we’re exhibiting the KeyShot goodness at the IDSA 2012 International Conference going on August 15-19th at the The Westin Waterfront in beautiful Boston, Massachusetts. We’ll be demonstrating a lot of the same cool add-ons we featured last week, plus a few new features hitting the screen in the upcoming release of KeyShot 3.3. Here’s a look at what’s happening with Luxion at IDSA this week.

Rockin’ the IDSA Sponsorship
The IDSA International Conference is without a doubt, our most favorite show with the word ‘International’ in it. We sponsored the Regional Design Dialogues throughout the year and we’re stoked to be among the esteemed sponsors of the International show. It’s pretty much the equivalent of getting to wear a giant gold IDSA necklace. So gangsta, so cool and we get to put our name up where ever they let us. If you haven’t seen KeyShot by the end of the show, you’re looking down at your mobile phone way too much.

Who deserves a Student Merit Award?
These students: Emmanuel Carrillo, Yasemin Uyar, Ryan Geraghty, Haley Toelle and Reid Schlegel. We’re proud once again to be the exclusive sponsor of this year’s Student Merit Awards, recognizing the best and brightest for excellence in industrial design education. You can find out more about this year’s winners and see their portfolios here.

KeyShot = Party
Not gonna lie. We like to party. This year, we’re joining with both Core77 and Sprout Designs in a back-to-back par-tay extravaganza. First, we’ll be at Microsoft N.E.R.D. in Cambridge, Thursday, Aug. 16th at 5:30 PM (Drinks on us!) Then, at 9:00 PM, we’ll be shooting out the KeyShot vibe at Atwood’s Tavern in the same gorgeous block with the Core77 crew. It’s a one mile walk between the two spots. Map of the locations and route are available here.

Eye popping new Tech and materials
Maybe you saw everything we introduced last week? No? Well, you should take a look and if you’re at the show, it will be a perfect opportunity to see it all in action. First, we’re teaming up with DuPont Performance Coating to bring the entire line of DuPont Paints to KeyShot. We’ve also introduced a slick KeyShot rendering add-on, called KeyShotVR, to view models on the web in glorious 3D. And, we announced the partnership between Luxion and Sabertooth Interactive, and with it LuSt, a web-based product configuration tool to deliver real-time product variations to clients and design departments. Finally, coming to KeyShot 3.3, We have bug fixes of course, and also a handy new color-picker you’ll want to get your peepers on.
