It Begins. Rapid Jewelry, The 3D Printing Design Competition.

Today, it begins. The first annual Rapid Jewelry 3D Printing Design Contest kicks off with cash prizes, software and a nationwide fashion show to put your prize-winning entry in front of thousands. Design Museum Boston is hosting the competition with Luxion and Solidscape sponsoring the show that asks jewelry designers to take an age old craft and bring it into the 21st century.

We’ll formally launch the competition Monday night, February 16th, at the 3D Printing Wearables event where select 3D print companies will debut cutting-edge tech and designers will show what is possible.

The Call for Entries is now open with submissions due by April 3rd, 2015.

Winners Announced: May 23, 2015

Join us for a special fashion show featuring the finalists and winners of Rapid Jewelry on May 23, 2015 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel Imperial Ballroom.

PRIZES

  • 3 winning entries receive cash prizes: 1st prize, $2,000; 2nd prize, $1000; 3rd prize, $500
  • All entries featured in an online gallery
  • Finalist 3D printed and featured in a nationally-traveling fashion show, exhibition, and retail experience — in retail finalist will receive royalties on the sale of their pieces.

Registration Fees:

  • $15 for students
  • $25 for DMB & SNAG members
  • $40 for non-members
