by | Mar 23, 2015 | 0 comments

Did you know you can copy and paste materials in KeyShot with a simple hotkey? As one of the most overlooked productivity enhancers, it can save a lot of time on applying materials. Along with copying the material it also links the material with the one copied. Copying and linking materials can be done lightning fast with the copy and paste materials hotkeys–a simple shift-click and done.

1. Copy the material

Use SHIFT + LEFT CLICK on the part with the material you want to copy.

2. Paste the material

Use SHIFT + RIGHT CLICK on the part where you want to paste the material.

This will not only apply the copied material to that part, but it will also link the materials to make editing all parts sharing that material fast and easy. Now, when you change that material, all linked materials update along with it. And, if you ever want to unlink a material after copying it, just right click on the object and select Unlink Material.
