The KeyShot crew fills you in with the latest KeyShot tips and tricks, insight into 3D rendering technology and the people creating the coolest visuals across the engineering, product design and entertainment industries.

In September, at Gnomon Workshop Live, we had the opportunity to see how several 3D artists use KeyShot in their workflow. One of the talented young lads was none other than Dominic Qwek, a character artist who can work up a creature concept faster than you can carve a chunk of cheese with a meat cleaver. It was an absolute shame that the rest of the world wasn’t able to see his session. Fortunately, Gnomon has made it possible for all to experience his expertise with a new tutorial from Dominic on how to create realistic skin using ZBrush and KeyShot.

How to Create Realistic Skin with ZBrush and KeyShot

This is a new video/DVD course that delves into the character creation and development process of Dominic Qwek. The course comes with six chapters covering topics such as sculpting micro-detail, polypainting, lighting, rendering and post processing.

Dominic Qwek covers how to create realistic skin for his creature designs using ZBrush and KeyShot with post processing completed in Photoshop. KeyShot’s translucent shader is explained, as well as its HDR lighting features, for photo-realistic and interactive rendering.
