Alstom is the world’s leading solution provider for energy technology and transport systems. They cover the gamut of energy generation from gas to wind, with nearly 25% of the world’s power production capacity depending on Alstom technology and services. KeyShot Channel Partner INNEO Solutions has supported their deployment of KeyShot, for which they use in everything from high resolution visuals and marketing imagery to web graphics and power plant software UI. We had an opportunity to find out more from Jean-Christophe Tawil, HV3D Project Manager at
Alstom Renewable Power, Hydro Operations.

alstom-hydropower-keyshot-02-tnHow is KeyShot used across the Alstom divisions?
With the global position of the HV3D project and the large panel of applications that we provide, today we are working with all services at various progress stages and at numerous levels. To sum up, KeyShot is used everywhere, starting at the root level (from mock-ups to finished 3D models) and managed in parallel through each operational process (Sales, Tendering, Service, Engineering, Project Office, Marketing, Communication).

What are some of the projects KeyShot has been used on?
Some examples for the Hydro Operations team are:

  • Kiosk illustration
  • High resolution posters for accurate site display (Alstom Hydro Belfort, Grenoble)
  • Modern human-machine interface for power plant in Turkey (main screen of control room)
  • Alstom Hydro documentation and training supports
KeyShot is simple to deploy and use on non-standard products, a user-friendly software that is also strongly professional.

How has KeyShot helped save time or improve quality?
KeyShot is simple to deploy and use on non-standard products, a user-friendly software that is also strongly professional. Due to the ease-of-use, KeyShot helps us to save time and money, and at the same time, improves our capability to communicate complex products, even moreso with dedicated Pro/ENGINEER plugin. Most of the time, only one nice 3D image of a cross-section is enough for efficient technical clarification.
