RenderWeekly KeyShot Animation Challenge [Winner & Finalists]

by | Apr 27, 2021 | 0 comments

Over the past few weeks, we teamed up with @renderweekly as they hosted the first KeyShot Animation Challenge on Instagram. We were thoroughly amazed with the creativity and unexpected use of KeyShot Animation to visualize so many different products and more effectively communicate design. We would like to thank RenderWeekly and, to everyone who took part in the challenge, you amazed us – THANK YOU.

All of the submissions shared can be seen under the #rwksmotionchallenge hashtag. The winning animations showed thoughtful use of the new KeyShot 10 animation features and how these new tools are powerful enough to be applied individually or in combination with one another to create unique and clever animations. The KeyShot judges and RenderWeekly Community chose 2o finalists and 5 among them as the winners.

With that, we present to you, the winners and the finalists of the RenderWeekly KeyShot Animation Challenge!

Winner

Marlon Steinhage
@marlon.steinhage
Dream Office

Judge Feedback – Reza Tari:Marlon Stenhage’s submission was both visually pleasing and brilliantly crafted as it used a series of KeyShot’s new animation features in creative and unexpected ways to build the animation. Congratulations, Marlon!”

Winner

Alex D’Souza
@alex_dsouza
Slice Metal-Handle Utility Knife

Judge Feedback – Brooke Harrington: “This is enticingly beautiful and very clever. The tasteful camera shake, the seamless transitions, the application of motion blur, the subtle button jump before that sweet exploded view. There’s an incredible contrast between the chaotic beginning and the graceful end. Great work and great job showcasing KeyShot 10.”

Winner

Anshuman Kumar
@anshuman22
iFan Desk Fan

Judge Feedback – Brad Adelmann:This is a really sweet animation! Materials are spot on! I felt Anshuman did a great job representing the product with a smooth and fun feel. Camera moves and part animation timing with the music track were perfect. He also did a great job giving the viewer just enough with out over doing it.”

Winner

David Chapman
@davidchapman_

Judge Feedback – Tim Feher: “The execution of this animation was excellent. The materials, lighting, cameras, and music choice all went together perfectly. The opening scene engaged me right away, and I didn’t want to look away. I like how you used the different animation features KeyShot provides to create this piece. I wanted to see more.”
