Speakers:

Eric Fickas, Senior Industrial Designer at Priority Designs | Consumer Goods

Eric Fickas is a senior industrial designer and project manager with 35 years of experience developing products across a wide range of categories. He specializes in concept development and excels at translating 2D concepts into compelling 3D CAD models, and photorealistic renderings and animations that help clients bring ideas to life and achieve market success.

Throughout his career, Eric has contributed his design expertise at Priority Designs, Brooks Stevens Design, and Nordic Design Services. For the past 29 years, he has been a valued member of the Priority Designs team, where he combines hands-on design skills with project leadership and a strong understanding of client needs.

Eric is particularly drawn to projects that present unique design challenges. Known for his creativity, enthusiasm, and ability to build strong client relationships, he brings a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to every project.

Nick Busato, Digital Art Director at Multimatic | Automotive

Nick Busato is the Digital Art Director at Multimatic Inc, a global automotive supplier and engineering firm headquartered in Ontario, Canada. Drawing on a decade of experience with KeyShot and professional photography, he creates visuals that support brand, product, and customer needs. His work combines an artistic touch and practical experience to bring complex engineering concepts and products to life with clear and engaging visuals.

Spencer Livingstone, Founder/Creative Director of Presume Studio | Design Visualization

Presume is a London-based CGI and moving image studio. We create photorealistic 3D visuals for products, interiors, and brands. Work that doesn't just look real, but feels it.

Founded by Spencer Livingstone, an RCA graduate with ten years of rendering experience, the studio is built on a deep understanding of materials, light, and form. We believe true photorealism lives in the details. Micro-imperfections, subtle nuance, the small things the brain registers before the eye does. That attention to craft is what makes an image feel tangible rather than rendered.

Jonathan Welch, Creative Director at The Ames Companies | Manufacturing

Jonathan Welch is a creative manager, industrial designer and 3D artist with nearly 15 years of experience in the creative industry. He began his career at a creative agency, where his interest in 3D visualization quickly became an increasingly important part of his work.

His career has taken him from agency environments to owning and operating his own creative business and, ultimately, to leading and developing a team of designers. Jonathan has worked across consumer products, toys, medical devices, electronics and home appliances. His experience spans industrial design, 3D visualization and creative leadership with a particular passion for transforming ideas and complex concepts into compelling visual experiences for consumers.

Jonathan first began using KeyShot while studying industrial design, teaching himself the software alongside SolidWorks to bring greater realism and context to his designs. It has remained part of his creative toolkit as his career has evolved from hands-on design and visualization into creative leadership.

Today, Jonathan leads and mentors a team of multidisciplinary artists as a creative services manager, helping them develop their craft while guiding creative work from concept through execution.

Session 3 — Watch KeyShot Experts Solve Tricky Issues in Real-Time

12pm-1pm Pacific

Ever found yourself a little stuck on a scene, wondering how an expert might handle the same situation? Join KeyShot’s Karim Merchant and Chip Brush as they work through a real scene provided by a longtime KeyShot user, Matt Gerard of Banner Engineering. Come away with new tips and tricks from advanced users in real time and leave ready to tackle your next project.

Speakers:

Matt Gerard, Creative Design Manager, Banner Engineering

Matt Gerard is currently the Creative 3D Design Manager at Banner Engineering, where he leads a team of 4 creating 3D product visualization, technical illustration, animation, video, and just about anything else that helps visually explain how Banner products work in industrial automation.

Matt originally went to school for audio engineering and over the past 25-plus years, his career has taken him through audio production, video production and post-production, editing, motion graphics, CAD visualization, and 3D rendering, working with companies including 3M, Target, General Mills, Toro, and Emerson Rosemount along the way.

He’s been using KeyShot for more than a decade and is a self-described efficiency nut. If he has to do something more than a couple of times, he starts looking for ways to remove the friction and make it faster, easier, or better. That mindset now plays a big part in how he approaches 3D workflows, creative technology, and leading his team—while still staying very much hands-on with the work.

And one of the stranger entries on his résumé is an honorary Emmy from his first industry job as a post-production intern on Barney & Friends Show for Live & Direct to Tape Sound Mixing in 2000.
