Solid Edge import problem
« on: October 05, 2010, 08:55:59 am »
I am still using hypershot but trying the demo of keyshot 2. I was excited to see
it had could import native Solid Edge files but while they do import they are
unusable because materials when applied apply to all parts. I also notice that not all
parts are listed in the part tree. I have tried checking and unchecking all import options
but it does not change anything. I then tried importing the same assembly as a step file
which worked in hypershot. This took a very long time to import and finally came in way
out of scale and crashed Keyshot. I am curious if anyone else has had this problem and
welcome any ideas on it.

Can you share the SolidEdge assembly? I assume it is an assembly? Also, in order to keep individual material groups on the part level you will need to assign colors to the individual surfaces.
