Late Le Rhone Radial Engine
« on: July 09, 2012, 01:18:10 am »
I think I've missed the deadline, but thought I may as well post anyway. I would've liked to taken this further but have run out of time.

This is a Le Rhone plane engine supplied by Stephane Bouye via GrabCAD. Great model mate and many thanks!
Here's a link to the model:

The Le Rhone was a French made plane engine that was prominent during the World War I era. Well favoured for its reliability.

This engine had all the internals modelled as well and I wanted to show them off a little and so exploded the top off to give a sneak peak at some of the inner workings. I chose a viewpoint expressed that expressed motion particularly its rotary nature.

This is a comp of three renders with some tonal correction and background placement in Photoshop. Background uses pictures of the original tech drawings of the Le Rhone.
