Is this be possible?
« on: January 10, 2019, 10:54:20 am »
I'm not sure if my question makes sense and I have no experience with python/scripting.

I am looking to model a few thousand of the same object with different dimensions in Solidworks and render them in Keyshot. There will be several parts with different finishes. Would it be possible to automate applying the textures and rendering even if the dimensions are different for each file? They will all have the same form.

Any help/resources would be greatly appreciated!

I recommend looking into using material templates. They allow you to apply materials to an imported model automatically upon import.
You can also look at the existing render_images script. It will allow you to render imported models and it is possible to assign materials automatically using the material template concept.
