Are Scenes and Materials backwards compatible?
« on: January 21, 2016, 08:19:17 am »
Hello all you magnificent Keylings,
Can you use basic scene packages and materials from newer versions of KS, within older versions of KS?

I have a few freelancers that do work for me and I need to set up a Standard Operating Procedures document for them, which tells them how to render our products. However, none of them use the newest version of KS where I am on version 6 (floating).

I would love to provide them with template files where we take different lines of products and line them up for basic images that show each product category line but I want to know if they can even use the templates I create for them? I would hate to have them spend a bunch of time setting up their own documents. We need a uniform look.

Anyone know the answer?

This is currently only possible within a point release, so 6.1 packages can be loaded in 6.0 and so on. KeyShot 5 cannot read a KeyShot 6 package.

So materials themselves are also included in what you've described?
