Decal with frosted glass
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:16:53 am »
Dear All,
I need your help, maybe it's really easy. I'm slowly moving from maxwell to keyshot.
I try to have a glass, with a frosted glass decal. like the picture below.
How can i do that ? Can we apply a material on a decal ?

This is what I want to have :

I've tried to duplicate the glass, and to have one in glass, and the second in frosted glass with an opacity mask. Didn't look good.
Any advices ?
Cheers
P

Hi,
In the picture below i simply use a decal to simulate frosted engraved pattern.
Transparent PNG  : white drawing with 50 % opacity.
You can add grain in it for more realism.

In KeyShot 6 you can either use a material on a label or use a roughness map.
