That is strange, Jonathan. Do you have a simple/small file you could share? It looks like your model is tiny?

Simple solution- get a Hardinge or Monarch 10E lathe.  No tool marks!

  can't really, it's for a client. The model is normal sizes, maybe for this purpose I can try to scale it though since there's nothing really nearby to show it's relative size. To me, KS is pretty amazing, but it's finicky as @^$!~ to work with. It's kind of annoying, I'm still trying to figure out how to get brushed mapping to work.

   As for getting a lathe, good joke but the part I'm modeling is already made on a lathe, actually I'm not even sure why they want renderings, they have all real life prototypes that look great, I've even recommended to them to use a photographer and DSLR vs. rendering. I think it might be a cost issue? no idea.
